New life begins for university grads

290 undergraduate students from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences received their degrees at a commencement ceremony on July 2. This is the first undergraduate class in the school's 40-year history. The university's forerunner was the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, founded in 1978 as the first graduate school in China approved by the State Council.
