Ministry urges countries to reject protectionism

The Foreign Ministry on Friday urged all countries, especially major economies, to stand firmly against protectionism and maintain the normal international trade order.

Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said responsible countries should take responsible actions to offer positive energy and stability to the world.

She made the remarks when responding to a question on the United States' decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum exports from the European Union, Canada and Mexico.
