Chinese form art troupe in Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya - A day after the Chinese Lantern Festival, the Kenya Chinese Art Troupe made its debut Saturdayin a performancethemed "Silk Road Connects Dreams", winning great applause from the audience

Bao Ping, director of the art troupe, said at the inauguration that after several months of effort, the Kenya Chinese Women's Association formed the troupe in collaboration with the four Confucius Institutes in Kenya, Chinese-funded enterprises, Chinese language schools and overseas Chinese organizations,with the support of the Chinese embassy to Kenya.

"The art troupe will provide a platform to gather art resources from all walks of life to enrich the cultural life of the overseas Chinese in Kenya, uphold Chinese culture and promote Chinese-Kenyan culture and art exchanges," she said.
