Rolling in the deep

Aphoto series focusing on free divers and ocean creatures such as jackfish and rays went on display in Beijing's 798 Art Zone last month.
All the shots in the Involved in the Deep Blue series were taken by photographer Song Gang, who joined a Chinese free diving team on a trip to Mexico at the start of the year.
Free diving requires divers to hold their breath until resurfacing rather than rely on breathing apparatus. So each time the photographer would have only a short time underwater to shoot. The team also designed a system of gestures to communicate.
This series aims to present the charm of nature, the photographer says.
