More benefits for Starbucks staff

Starbucks will provide several new employee benefits in China, including housing subsidies and more leave without pay, the company announced on Jan 11 while celebrating its 2,000-store milestone in the country.
As of January, full-time baristas and shift supervisors in Starbucks company-owned stores in China are receiving a monthly housing subsidy. This benefit is expected to cover - in many cases - about half of their monthly housing expenses.
Starbucks China also is introducing the Career Coffee Break, which the company offers as an employee benefit in its US stores. Employees in their stores with 10 consecutive years of service will be eligible to apply for up to 12 months of unpaid leave. Their social and company benefits continue during their leave.
