Beijing a La mode

China Fashion Week was held over nine days from Oct 25, and more than 90 fashion brands and designers showcased their collections.
Dozens of shows took place at the Beijing Hotel, 751D Park and the China World Trade Center. The displays included womenswear, menswear, gowns, sportswear and children's wear.
The fashion on display included that by established domestic brands such as NE Tiger and Broadcast, as well as young designers such as Alicia Lee and Echo Chen. High street fashion brands such as Cabbeen were also represented.
NE Tiger continued to explore traditional Chinese culture and this year drew inspiration from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In its collection, imperial attire was transformed into modern versions with fitted silhouettes and Western tailoring.
International brands such as the Danish furrier Kopenhagen Fur and Giada Curtil of Italy were also on display.
The Milan-based Greek designer Angelos Bratis presented a collection of stunning light dresses.
Children's wear brands were more prevalent this year compared with previous years, all seeking to capitalize on the potential children's market in China.
