New York HOLIDAY TRADITION Families learn the art of paper cutting to make dragon-inspired crowns. The Museum of Chinese Americans hosted a Dragon Boat Family Festival on June 7. The festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. The festival included many workshops and performances, including a demonstration for children to learn the art of paper cutting, to make paper dragon boats and the tradition of eating zongzi, a traditional Chinese rice dumpling wrapped with palm leaves.
