The 32-year-old athlete and member of the Portuguese national soccer team expressed his desire to return to Brazil. The athlete began his professional career at Indaiatuba, a small team in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo.

Deco affirmed on Tuesday that he has received a formal proposal from Fluminense, however, the decision to return to Brazil will only be made after the World Cup.
Deco currently has one year remaining on his contract with the English club Chelsea. Fluminense are actively working towards liberating the player from his contract.

Rumors regarding Chelsea's plans for next season favor Fluminense's position. According to the British media, Chelsea have listed Deco as a likely transfer since he no longer fits the build of the club.

Fluminense began their campaign to reel in Deco more than two weeks ago. The club alleges to have everything prepared to receive the player. However, the athlete prefers not to discuss the matter and stick to his concentration on performing well in the World Cup.
