VARNA, Bulgaria, August 30 (Xinhua) -- The 21st International Film Festival "Love is Folly", one of the three largest movie festivals in Bulgaria, officially opened here on Friday evening at the Black Sea coast.
More than 70 movies from dozens of countries will be shown to the public during the one-week event, held in the Festival and Congress Centre Varna, with 12 of them competing for the Grand Prix "Golden Aphrodite."
Rob Nillson, the jury chairman, told a press conference just before the opening ceremony that he would judge films by the honesty and the personal effect.
Prof. Alexander Grozev, the festival's Artistic Director, said Rob Nillson's movie "Collapse" would have its world premiere at the festival.
Bulgarian film "Rat Poison" finished ten days ago would also be shown for the first time, Grozev said.
In addition, the organizers would focus the viewers' attention on films from China, Palestine and Belgium, Grozev added.
