Iverson wants to stay in China, report

BEIJING, September 5 (Xinhua) -- American basketball star Allen Iverson would say goodbye to the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was looking forward to play for a Chinese club, local reports said on Wednesday.
"Talking about his condition, Allen has already farewelled the NBA. Our future is in China," his agent Gary Moore was quoted as saying by 163.com.
Iverson, 37, is taking a tour in China, sparking specualtion that he wanted to play in the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) next season.
"I hope China will be his home. I hope he will have more activities here in the future, and I even hope he will live here," Moore told the website reporter on Wednesday.
The former Most Valuable Player of NBA almost retired from the professional ranks in January of 2011 after he end a spell in Turkey with Besiktas due to a calf injury.
He played 14 seasons in the NBA before he retired from the 76ers on March 3, 2010.
The 163.com reports said Iverson called on Wednesday morning former NBA star Yao Ming, the boss of the Shanghai Sharks of the CBA, which is a sign of contacting CBA clubs for future connection.
