Tsunami warning canceled for Alaska earthquake

SAN FRANCISCO - The tsunami warning is canceled for certain coastal areas in Alaska following a powerful earthquake, the US West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said Thursday night.

"No destructive tsunami has been recorded, and no tsunami danger exists along the coasts of the US west coast states, Alaska, and British Columbia," the center said.
