BENGHAZI - The Libyan opposition chief Mustafa Abdul Jalil on Saturday denied allegations that the rebels will consider establishing diplomatic relation with Israel.

The National Transitional Council (NTC) held talks with an envoy sent by French president, but has never discussed the issue of establishing relations with Israel as some media had reported, NTC chairman Jalil told a press conference.

As a member of the Arab League, Libya joins the consensus of the organization and abides by AL decisions, he said. "Libya's role will definitely be to support the cause of the Palestinians to establish a secure and independent country."
