ISLAMABAD - At least 40 militants were killed in an on-going clash with Pakistani security forces that broke out since Wednesday in the country's northwest Upper Dir district bordering Afghanistan, reported local English TV channel Express on Thursday.

According to the report, some 300 militants from Afghanistan stormed a checkpoint at the Brawl area of the afore-said district early Wednesday morning.
