MANILA - At least 13 crew members were injured when a cargo vessel caught fire off Camarines Sur province in central Philippines' Bicol region on Wednesday night, local media reported Thursday morning.

The 13 injured crew members were immediately brought to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City for treatment. The fire may have started from the engine room of the vessel, local radio dzBB cited initial police information as saying.

The cargo vessel came from Sibuyan Island in Romblon province and was carrying marble shipment.

Authorities in the area responded quickly to the fire lest the vessel get near an oil depot in the Pasacao town area.
