DEAUVILLE, France - President Barack Obama will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Friday before heading into a final day of meetings at the G-8 summit.
Obama and Sarkozy are expected to discuss the uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the NATO-led bombing campaign in Libya. France has played a key role in the Libya operation, especially after the US turned over control of the mission to NATO.
Obama and Sarkozy will speak to reporters afterward.
The two leaders will then participate in summit meetings that will focus on ways the world's top economies can offer financial assistance to Tunisia and Egypt as they move toward democratic elections later this year.
Obama flies to Poland on Friday evening, the last stop on his weeklong European trip.
