6.0-magnitude quake hits near east coast of Honshu

TOKYO - An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 00:46:16 GMT on Friday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 26.20 km, was initially determined to be at 35.7357 degrees north latitude and 140.9814 degrees east longitude.
