TOKYO - The US dollar traded at the lower 83 yen zone early Monday in Tokyo.

At 9 am, the dollar bought 83.10-11 yen against 83.05-15 yen in New York and 83.02-04 yen in Tokyo at 5 pm Friday.

The euro was quoted at 1.4398-4399 dollars and 119.66-67 yen, compared with 1.4423-4433 dollars and 119.91-120.01 yen in New York and 1.4466-4468 dollars and 120.10-14 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
