PYONGYANG - Associated Press (AP) president and chief executive officer Thomas Curley said Friday the US-based news service would like to strengthen press cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) media.

Curley left here Friday after a four-day visit.

At the airport, he told Xinhua the main purposes of his visit were to establish a close relationship with KCNA, the DPRK's official news agency, and discuss the issues of strengthening communication and accrediting reporters here.

Curley said he had good and exciting meetings with DPRK representatives and reached important consensus.

He said he was "extremely" satisfied with the visit, which was very "fruitful."
