PYONGYANG - The military of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday vowed to take "resolute military measures" against the exercises to be jointly held by the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States, the official KCNA news agency reported.
As the ROK and the United States declare that the exercises are aimed at removing the DPRK's nuclear weapons and missiles and examining the practicability of the "plan on local war" against the DPRK, the DPRK will take resolute military measures to deal with these moves, the statement said.
The DPRK will go on "an all-out offensive" to put an end to "the US military occupation" of the ROK and "the anti-popular ruling system" of the ROK, the statement continued.
The DPRK will also respond to "reckless provocation" with "an all-out war at any time" and counter "the nuclear and missile blackmail" with its "own nuclear deterrent" and "missile striking method," it said.
It is reported that the ROK and the United States will hold joint military exercises from February 28 to March 10.
