MOSCOW - Eight people were killed and three others were injured after a fire broke out at a warehouse in the Russian city of Perm early Friday morning, emergency officials said.
Earlier reports had said seven were dead during the ordeal which took place at the private-owned warehouse of consumer goods in the Dzerzhinsk district. But officials from the Volga Regional Emergency Center later told reporters that firefighters have found the eighth victim as they were trying to extinguish the fire.
The center was notified about the fire at 4:17 am Mosow Time (0117GMT) and fighthers arrived at the scene about one and a half hours later.
Itar-Tass reported that the fire affected an area of 6,000 square meters and about 127 firefighters were trying to suppress the fire at the scene.
