MEXICO CITY - About 60,000 Central American undocumented immigrants enter Mexico each year, most of them from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, official sources said on Monday.
Hernandez said at a press conference that there is also a strong presence in Mexico of Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan immigrants.
Hernandez said that in 2010 the office gave health assistance to more than 8,000 migrants, compared to the 1,300 assisted in 2008.
Hernandez said that in order to guarantee the security and respect to the immigrants' human rights, the immigrants must be documented together by Chiapas state and the Mexican Migration National Institute (INM).
