WASHINGTON - An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale jolted Vanuatu region at 13:16:40 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33.00 km, was initially determined to be at 19.7200 degrees south latitude and 167.9600 degrees east longitude.
