4 killed as S Korean fishing vessel sinks

SEOUL - South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed Monday that four were killed and 18 went missing after a South Korean fishing vessel with 42 sailors aboard sank in the Antarctic Ocean.

The ship sank around 4:30 am (GMT 19:30) on Monday in Antarctic waters, the ministry said.

Eight of the 42 people aboard the ship were South Koreans, the ministry said. Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese sailors also were aboard the ship.

20 were rescued while 4 were dead and 18 went missing.
