Indonesia's leading carrier cancels int'l flight

JAKARTA - Indonesia's leading carrier Garuda Indonesia canceled a flight to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday and planned to delay another flight to Singapore due to unresolved glitches in its new information technology system, a media reported here.

"We have also canceled one international flight to Kuala Lumpur," Garuda president director Emirsyah Satar was quoted by the Jakarta Post as saying. He also said that the firm would also delay a flight to Singapore.

The airline also canceled 12 domestic flights, he said.  

The president director told local television that the firm was changing the application of old information system with the new one which may support the firm's expansion.

The firm expressed an apology on its Web site.
