Bin Laden blames French policy for abductions

DUBAI - Osama bin Laden said the kidnapping of five French nationals in Niger last month had been prompted by what he said was France's unjust treatment of Muslims, Al Jazeera television reported on Wednesday.

"It is not right for you to occupy our countries and kill our women and children and expect to live in peace and security," the television station quoted the al Qaeda leader as saying in a message addressed to the French people.
