NEW DELHI - Around 10 people were injured when a train derailed early Friday in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh after some rail tracks were washed away by flood, reported local TV channel Times Now.

The incident took place near the town of Kasanj when the engine and some bigies of the Kasanj-Lucknow Express passenger train derailed after some tracks went missing in flood, said the report.

Some northern Indian states have been hit by floods over the past few weeks due to continuous heavy rains.
