National Police say gunmen kidnapped veteran journalist Israel Zelaya in the city of San Pedro Sula on Tuesday. His body was found hours later in a sugar cane plantation near the city of Villanueva.

Police say in a statement that three months ago the 62-year-old radio commentator for Radio International in San Pedro Sula had complained to authorities that a group of strangers had set his house on fire.

Police have no suspects or a motive in the killing.
