Philippine police nab kidnapper of 2 Chinese nationals

MANILA - Philippine authorities have nabbed a Filipino suspect in the kidnapping of two Chinese nationals last year, police said Saturday.

Dante Esteller Pedrigon was arrested recently in Quezon City, Metro Manila, for kidnapping Kho-His Liu and Hodun Chin Liu who were abducted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City on February 19, 2009 and were brought to nearby Zambales province in exchange for a ransom of 2.5 million pesos ($55,500) .

Pedrigon was allegedly linked to a Chinese kidnapping for ransom group, which is known in victimizing wealth Chinese businessmen in the country.

The suspect is listed as one of National Capital Region's Most Wanted Persons with a monetary reward of 200,000 pesos ($4,400)up on his head.
