DUISBURG, Germany - One Chinese was killed in a mass panic during the love parade, a techno music festival held in the western German city of Duisburg Saturday afternoon, the local chief of police said Sunday in a press conference.
Wang Xiting, deputy consul-general of Chinese consulate in Germany's Frankfurt, also confirmed Sunday that one Chinese female citizen was killed in a mass panic during the parade.

Chinese diplomats have gone to Duisburg for further details and to deal with the aftermath, Wang said.
The death toll of the stampede has risen to at least 19 while all together 342 people were injured, local police confirmed on Sunday morning.
Sixteen people died on the scene when the crowd were crushed. Some other seriously injured died later in hospital.
