2 pilots killed as Indian Mig-27 fighter crashes

NEW DELHI- A Mig-27 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal Saturday morning, killing two pilots onboard, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.

The aircraft crashed in Moinaguri village in Jalpaiguri district, said the report.

Twelve villagers, including four children, were injured in the accident, the report quoted Wing Commander Mahesh Upasani, the defense spokesperson of eastern headquarters in Kolkata, as saying.
