Judge, court clerk shot dead in Belgium

BRUSSELS - A female judge and a court clerk were shot dead in a court in downtown Brussels on Thursday.

The accident took place at around 11 am (0900 GMT) in a sessional court opposite the landmark Palace of Justice when a man suddenly rushed in and opened fire.

An eyewitness said he heard gunfire coming out of the court building. The local resident said the court building had only loose security check.

Police have sealed off the spot and refused to give any information about the incident. The shooter was said to be at large.
