13 tigers die in India in 10 weeks

NEW DELHI - At least 13 tigers have died in 10 weeks since January in India, five each in January and March in various reserves across India, reported Press Trust of India on Monday.

Last year, 60 tigers died in the country which has 1,411 wild tigers, said the report.

Indian Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has made a wakeup call to save the tigers by blaming mafia supported by politicians in poaching activities for its extinction, according to the report.
