DHAKA - Four members of a family died and five others fell sick Thursday after eating poisonous fish in Bangladesh's Narsingdi district, 45 km northeast of the capital Dhaka, private news agency UNB reported.

Two brothers bought the fish from a local market on Wednesday evening and fell sick soon after eating the fish with their family members at night.

Local people rushed the nine family members to local hospital where one member died.

After the death, local hospital doctors suggested to take the other sick members to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

They were sent to DMCH early Thursday where three members died later.

The other five members were released from the hospital after treatment.
