45 injured in train crash in Turkey

ANKARA  -- Forty-five people were injured when a cargo train collided with another train in central Turkey early on Saturday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.  

Turkish Railways General Directorate was quoted as saying that the cargo train heading from Ankara to the eastern province of Malatya collided with 4 Eylul Mavi Train in Sarkisla town of the central Anatolian province of Sivas at 6:20 a.m. (0420 GMT) after the cargo train violated red signal.

The injured were immediately taken to hospitals for treatment, added the general directorate.
