Blast kills 8 in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - A blast took place in northwest Pakistan on Friday, leaving at least 13 people dead, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.

The blast occurred in Matta area of Swat valley in North West Frontier Province, said the report.

A wedding procession was under way in Matta area when a remote- controlled explosion suddenly hit the wedding van, killing 13 people, mostly children, and injuring 14 others.

Army rescue teams have arrived at the site of the blast. The motive behind the attack is not known.
