Al-Zawahri video: US failing in Iraq(Agencies)
Updated: 2007-12-17 09:28 Al Qaida tape denounces Annapolis conference An audiotape, said to be the voice of Al-Qaida's No. 2, has denounced last month's Mideast peace conference in the US. In the recording posted on an Islamic militant website, Ayman al-Zawahri called the Annapolis conference a "betrayal" of Palestinians. If the tape is genuine, it would be the first reaction by the terror network to the Mideast conference sponsored by US President, George W. Bush. The conference was attended by key Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt, as well as Palestinian and Israeli leaders. It promised to relaunch Palestinian-Israeli peace talks after a seven year hiatus.
