A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier wears a mask to prevent mosquito bites, as he patrols the remote Maharanicherra area, about 198 km (123 miles) southeast of Agartala, capital of India's northeastern state of Tripura, December 11, 2007. Malaria poses a big threat to the troopers posted along the Tripura-Bangladesh border, with seven dead and more than 3,000 BSF soldiers already been hit by malaria this year. BSF has made it mandatory for all those posted in the border to carry mosquito repellent creams, besides wearing facemasks and gloves all the time, local media reported.
