Romania's prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu ordered an inquiry Friday after mechanics found 60 kg cocaine in a car that has been parked in a government garage for four years.

When repairing a Porsche that was sent at the prime minister's order, mechanics discovered some bags of white powder weighing 60 kg.

It is estimated that the street value of the drugs stands at more than 80 million U.S. dollars.

Customs officers confiscated the Porsche in 2002 from a drug dealer after finding a separate 60 kg of drugs under the back seat. Since then the car had been parked in a government garage until the prime minister noticed it and ordered it to be repaired.

Although it appeared that customs officers had simply failed to find the cocaine hidden in the car, Tariceanu still ordered an inquiry into the matter to clear up all doubts.
