During a visit to Israel, Douste-Blazy said Iran's nuclear program caused a
"serious crisis" and the U.N. Security Council may have to impose sanctions on
Iran if it does not halt the enrichment of uranium.
"We are currently operating with two key words: unity and determination of
the international community," Douste-Blazy said at a hospital in southern
Israel. "Nothing is worse that not having the international community united on
this subject."
The foreign minister spoke in French, and his remarks were translated into
Hebrew.
Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said Wednesday that Iran would not
accept "any suspension or end" to its uranium enrichment activities.
