An Australian teacher, arrested in December last year on charges of having sex with boys, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Monday, local media reported on Tuesday.
Damien Walker, 26, was found guilty of debauchery and ordered to pay 3,000 U.S. dollars in compensation to his victims and spend 10 years in jail during a hearing that was closed to the public, The Cambodian Press Review reported.
The court called the six victims, all boys from 8 to 11 years old, to appear in court and testify against the Australian.
Walker had also been charged with opening a place to commit debauchery, but that charge was dropped by the judge.
Police raided his home in Daun Penh district on December 15 and seized a computer with graphic pictures of Walker engaged in sexual acts with Cambodia children and other sexual materials. Walker confessed after being arrested.
