Local residents volunteer to donate blood

Many residents of Wenzhou and surrounding areas have been volunteering to donate blood after the train crash.

One local resident said "I have learnt this news from the internet, and I came here immediately with my friends, to see what can we do for the injured."

More than 500 Wenzhou residents have donated their blood since Saturday night when the accident happened. The center says it now has sufficient blood supplies to meet the demands of the injured. But they are also urging their branches to send more blood to the center to meet future demands. The city's Blood Center has opened two hotlines to make it easier for people to donate.
