Shanghai to ban blacklisted tourists from traveling abroad

Ecns.cn | Updated: 2015-02-15 09:44

Shanghai is planning to forbid tourists who have been blacklisted for bad behavior from traveling abroad, the Shanghai Morning Post reported on Thursday.

With the approach of Spring Festival, a peak travel time for Chinese people, lectures on appropriate behavior for tourists are being held by the local Spiritual Civilization Office and Tourism Administration, as well as the Civilization Office of Changning district.

Shanghai will work with airlines, travel agencies and hotels to set up a record of tourists who have displayed bad behavior overseas.

Tour guides will be suspended or demoted, if the team led by them behaves inappropriately.

Tourists who behave appropriately while traveling abroad will be praised, the report said.
