A place where international ties can be kite strings

China Daily | Updated: 2012-05-03 10:25

Foreigners from 15 countries living in Nantong, Jiangsu province, took part in a recent kite festival.

The event was organized by Nantong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The participants attended a kite-making workshop before making their own.

Nantong is famous for its banyao kite, which dates back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Organizers hope the event will also promote local folk culture to foreigners.
