As spring gives way to summer, the Beijing International Flower Port is celebrating the blossoming of three million tulips.
Located in Shunyi District's Yang Town, the flower port is the capital's one and only industrial park for flowers. The port is designed for flower production, research, exhibition and trade, as well as for tourism and leisure events centered around flower viewing. It is the venue for the Seventh China Flower Expo held in 2009.
The flower port introduced three million tulip bulbs from the Netherlands after the expo and initiated a festival on tulips starting last year.
