Klinsmann to miss Cup Final
US coach Jurgen Klinsmann has been suspended for the CONCACAF Gold Cup final for showing dissent on the sideline following his side's 3-1 semifinal victory over Honduras. The suspension was announced on Friday by the CONCACAF disciplinary committee after it reviewed a report from the referee of the match on Wednesday. The US will seek its fifth Gold Cup title when it faces Panama on July 28 in Chicago. The decision can not be appealed, CONCACAF said.

Nuggets sign Robinson
The Denver Nuggets signed free-agent guard Nate Robinson to a multiyear contract, the team announced on Friday. The 5-foot-9 Robinson has career averages of 11.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in eight NBA seasons with the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls. Robinson averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists during the regular season and 16.3 points and 4.4 assists during the Bulls' run to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Mavs bring back former sergeant
The Dallas Mavericks re-signed center Bernard James, the team announced. Terms of the contract were not disclosed by the team. James, the former Air Force sergeant who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar, played in 46 games and started 11 for the Mavericks last season as a rookie, averaging 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds. The Mavericks had waived the 6-foot-10 James on July 19.

Yankees add slugger Soriano
The New York Yankees completed the trade for Alfonso Soriano, who was inserted into the Yankees lineup in the clean-up spot as the starting left fielder against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. The Chicago Cubs received minor league right-handed pitcher Corey Black in exchange. The 37-year-old Soriano waived his no-trade clause to make the deal happen. He started his career in 1999 with the Yankees.

Hawks extend Quenneville
The Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks have retained head coach Joel Quenneville on a three-year contract extension, the NHL team said on Friday. Quenneville, who led the Blackhawks to Stanley Cups titles in 2010 and 2013, will remain behind the Chicago bench through the end of the 2016-17 season. The 54-year-old became the team's 37th head coach in October 2008 and has since compiled a 222-106-44 record in 372 regular-season games. Financial details were not released.
