More affordable high-end eatery

Shunfeng, a high-end Cantonese restaurant chain in Beijing, has organized a Cantonese food cultural festival. During the festival, which kicked off in end-April, the restaurant is offering a 12 percent discount on 10 popular Cantonese dishes and 20 classic dishes. It has also introduced yamcha, a Cantonese-style meal, which combines tea drinking with dim sum and light dishes. The festival is part of the restaurant's effort in trying to cater to a lower spending market, as a way to fight against a recent slide down in business among high-end restaurants. - Ye Jun

Diaoye's Tenderloin is scheduled to open on May 20. Among the signature dishes are two secret recipes for beef tenderloin, which the owner bought from Hong Kong "god of cookery" Dai Long.
