High-flying fun

The Chicago Air and Water Show presents two fun-packed days of spectacular air and watercraft demonstrations on Lincoln Park's lakefront, with North Avenue Beach as its focal point.

Highlights include the US Navy Blue Angels and the US Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. The show is the oldest and largest free air show in the United States attracting around 2 million spectators.

The displays take place at the edge of the lake and the planes seem to narrowly miss some of the tall buildings on the waterfront as they zoom over the heads of the crowd.
