Exploring lost cities in Turkey, Greece
One of the most charming ways to sail the Mediterranean is by a Turkish gulet, a traditional wooden schooner that deftly navigates coasts, coves and bays. Classic Cruises is offering October sailings with seven-day itineraries that start from $1,350. Among the routes to choose from are Exploring the Lost Cities, a history-focused journey that stops at off-the-beaten track Marmaris and Fehiye in Turkey. Kos to Kos, meanwhile, is a sail through Greece's Dodecanese Islands. For more information or to book, e-mail info@classic-cruises.net.

October is pumpkin month
In the resort of Jackson in the US state of New Hampshire, visitors can take in a whole lot of carved pumpkins. In the annual Return of the Pumpkin People, some 50 hotels, inns and bed-and-breakfasts will be displaying the creative things done with the orange squash, the New England Tourism Office reports. Playmobil Museum opens in Norway
A new Playmobil museum has just opened in Norway, and by its own account is the first one of its kind in the world. Located in the former post office of the harbor town of Kragero, the museum houses, among other creations, entire farmsteads, police stations and space centers with moving parts driven by 76 motors, the Visit Norway tourism office says. The Playmobil world is founded on the collection of Erik Skaarup, who received his first Playmobil truck as a present at the age of three. The museum also has an exhibition of early sketches and designs. See more at www.playmobilbutikken.no.
