Belgian Hans Van Calster, a finance manager in Hong Kong, is one of many regular posters in China at expat-blog.com.

Van Calster says that he came to China because "I get bored quite easily, so working and living on the other side of the world was a good option."

He's keen on meeting people from around the globe and enjoys the easy travel to South Asian countries.

He uses the blog's forum to "start events to get lonely expat souls like myself together" and for more practical expat issues.

He also uses Smartshanghai to learn about events and to get addresses of venues.

What's hot this week on the blog?

Discussions and articles include 'Kicked out of a taxi", "How to be headhunted for a China job", "Why you should visit Xingping" and "What to do when you're sick in China".
