LONDON - Top seed Novak Djokovic crashed out of the Wimbledon Championships in the third round, witnessing his 30-match consecutive Grand Slam winning streak snapped abruptly on Saturday.

The match that lasted two days and suffered four rain interruptions registered the biggest upset of the tournament as American Sam Querrey handed Djokovic his earliest exit at a grand slam since 2009 with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5) win.

Prior to the match, Djokovic held the longest run of Grand Slam wins in nearly a half century.

The match, which took a total of three hours on court, also ended any Djokovic quest for a calendar-year grand slam title sweep after winning the Australian and French Opens this season.

Second seed Andy Murray, beaten in those finals by Djokovic, progressed after defeating Australian John Millman, reaching the second week 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.
